| Until a few years ago, Lesser Redpoll was considered to be a subspecies of Common Redpoll. Recent research, however, has shown that it is sufficiently different to warrant full specific status. Lesser Redpoll breed in Britain, Denmark, southern Sweden, central Europe and the Alps. |
