Crimson Rosella is an abundant parrot in many parts of southeastern Australia.

It occupies numerous woodland habitats from coastal woodland to alpine regions, including city suburbs and parklands where it is often extremely tame. Its prefered habitat, however, are the wet woodlands and forests.

Crimsom Rosella's feed on seeds and fruit, as can be seen in the two photos above of parrots eating windfall seeds on the forest floor.  Their dietary preference, as with many other parrots, has led them to occasionally be regarded as pests in fruit orchards.

Immature birds are mostly green, with only a few crimson feathers scattered on its breast and belly and its back is entirely green.
