Gould's Inca

Coeligena inca

Machu Picchu, Peru - December 2008

Gould's Inca forms a superspecies with Collared Inca and they are often considered to be conspecific but, due to their disjunct distributions and plumage differences, current opinion is leaning towards them being treated as separate species.

Machu Picchu, Peru - December 2008

Gould's Inca occurs from the Andes of southeast Peru to the Andes of Bolivia at altitudes between 1600-3200m above sea level.
