Geometridae

Streamer

Anticlea derivata

Attenborough, Nottinghamshire, England - April 2013

The Streamer has a single generation with adults emerging from their overwintering pupae in April and remaining on the wing until May. Freshly emerged adults often have a purplish tinge when they are freshly emerged (as can be seen in the above photo). They are locally common throughout most of England, Wales and lowland Scotland.
