Apple Leaf Miner

Attenborough, Nottinghamshire, England - August 2012

The Apple Leaf Miner is common throughout most of Britain.  Its larvae mine the leaves of a variety of fruit trees as well as Hawthorn, Blackthorn, Whitebeam and Rowan.  Adults are frequently attracted to light traps but, due to their tiny size, are easily overlooked in a busy trap after a warm summer night.
