| They are quite territorial and are often observed chasing Grey Squirrels. This behaviour has led to the erroneous story that Red Squirrels not only dominate their larger cousins, but also castrate them! In fact, the testes of Grey Squirrels are withdrawn into the abdomen during the non-breeding season so are not visible for most of the year. |
